Shiv Kumar Batalvi (1936-1973) was a renowned Punjabi poet, writer, and playwright from Punjab, India. He is considered one of the greatest Punjabi poets of the 20th century. Batalvi's poetry is known for its intense emotions, romantic themes, and profound imagery.
Born in the small village of Barapind in Punjab, Batalvi started writing poetry at a young age and published his first collection of poems at the age of 20. He gained popularity for his soulful and heart-wrenching verses that captured the pain and beauty of love and longing.
